1 - Business of the Year: 10+ Employees
Description
Eligibility: Must be an established business and a current Chamber member.
This award celebrates small businesses with more than 10 employees that have demonstrated strong and consistent performance over time. Nominees must be well-established and active within the Halton Hills business community, with a solid business history.
Nominees should demonstrate one or more of the following: steady business growth (in areas such as sales, job creation, or future prospects); a clear strategic vision; adaptability during changing times; strong financial practices; or a commitment to staff development and customer satisfaction. All with an emphasis on sustainable, long-term success.
Requirements
- Ten or more employees (full-time equivalent)
- Have been in business longer than five years
- Demonstrated innovative and proactive leadership
- Practiced good corporate citizenship
- Must not have won in this category for at least 10 years
- Must not have won in another category for at least 5 years

This award celebrates small businesses with fewer than 10 employees that have demonstrated strong and consistent performance over time. Nominees must be well-established and active within the Halton Hills business community, with a solid business history.
Nominees should demonstrate one or more of the following: steady business growth (in areas such as sales, job creation, or future prospects); a clear strategic vision; adaptability during changing times; strong financial practices; or a commitment to staff development and customer satisfaction. All with an emphasis on sustainable, long-term success.
Requirements
- One to nine employees (full-time equivalent)
- Been in business longer than five years
- Demonstrated innovative and proactive leadership

Mayor's Rising Star Award
This award celebrates a local resident under the age of 30 who is making a significant impact in the business or professional world—either as an entrepreneur, leader within an organization, or contributor to a growing enterprise.
Nominees should demonstrate early success, a strong work ethic, and leadership potential. This may include launching or growing a business, driving innovation within a company, achieving measurable results, or contributing to the economic development of Halton Hills.
Nominees may be working within a business, institutional, or non-profit setting—such as healthcare, public service, education, or charitable organizations.
- The Mayor's Rising Star is someone who is earning recognition for their achievements, showing clear potential for long-term success, and representing the next generation of corporate leadership in our community.
Requirements
Nominees should meet several of the following criteria:
- Demonstrates exceptional initiative and leadership in their field or organization
- Has launched, grown, or significantly contributed to a business, non-profit, or institutional initiative
- Achieves measurable outcomes (e.g. revenue growth, process improvement, community impact, audience reach)
- Drives innovation, new ideas, or meaningful change in their workplace or industry
- Contributes to the economic or social development of Halton Hills through their work
- Acts as a role model to peers and colleagues through professionalism, collaboration, and community engagement
- Shows strong potential for future leadership and continued success
- Earns recognition for their accomplishments, either internally or within the broader community
- Must not have won in another category for the previous 5 years.

Description
Honours a new emerging business that is achieving outstanding business performance in a short period of time, demonstrates exceptional promise for continued growth and serves as an inspiration for other new businesses.
Requirements
- Has been in operation for 5 years or less (from the date of incorporation or first day of operation)
- Demonstrates significant achievement in business
- Reflects the outstanding spirit and success of the Halton Hills business community
- Cannot have previously won in any other category for the previous 5 years

- Positive team player

- Have been in operation for at least 5 years
- Has created, invented or developed an innovative product or process approach to their business model that has resulted in a significant and measurable increase in one or more of the following:
- Revenue or job creation
- Productivity or quality
- Reduction in costs
- Improvements in service
- Must not have won in this category for at least 10 years
- Must not have won in another category for at least 5 years
